Taco Bell Mexican Pizza Lawsuit: The Restaurant Sued For False Advertising

A popular American multinational fast-food restaurant, Taco Bell, is sued by an unsatisfied customer. The plaintiffs claimed that the restaurant deceived customers by false advertising of food in the Crunchwrap, Mexican pizza, and other items.

This class action lawsuit was filed in the Eastern District of New York. The plaintiff, Frank Siragusa, claimed that they overstated the amount of beef and ingredients in its ads compared to what is offered to customers. He purchased a Mexican pizza from Ridgewood, New York, on September 20, 2022, and alleges that it contained half of the beef and bean filling.

He said these are ‘unfair and deceptive trade practices.’ Frank argued that false advertising is concerning now because of inflation. Where they promise to provide a large portion of meals, low-income customers choose Taco Bell over other restaurants.

When the case was filed in the Easter District of New York District Court, it was stated that all the customers who purchased food from there were eligible to be part of the class. The plaintiff asked the court to prevent Taco Bell from selling the items unless they provide corrected advertising and make the chain fully compensate the people who purchased one of the menu items from July 31, 2020, to the final deposition.

Furthermore, he argued that meat prices are very high, and many people are lower-income consumers and struggling financially. This lawsuit has many images in which the Taco Bell advertisement for items like Crunchwrap, Grande Crunchwrap, and Mexican Pizza is compared to what the customer actually received.
